Across the street from my house live Emmy, Elly, Jojo, and their parents, Rosie and John.Jojo, the youngest, 1 1/2 years old, thinks "googoogaga" is a word. Ell just turned 3 years old thinks she is a dog. Emmy, at 6 years of age wants to get married. They are the weirdest people I have ever seen! But one day, their aunt came over. She looked like a very ordinary aunt. I went to greet her. I knocked on the door and when she answered she said, "hello!" She introduced herself and said that she was adopting a baby alien. At first I didn't believe her, but when I looked inside her stroller I screamed. A baby alien!!! It growled fiercely and made me run outside. The aunt started chasing me when all of a sudden, I woke up. I looked out the window only to see an aunt leaving in a car in front of the house across the street from mine. Rosie took the stroller from the aunt and went inside. The car drove away and I sighed in relief. At least she's gone, but now I need to take on the challenge of having an alien living across the street.
THE END!

Journey into the past
One day, Annie, an archeologist was digging for bones. After days of digging she finaly found something. It wasn't dinosaur bones, but something that looked like a picture booth. She asked a scientist what it was , and he said it was a time machine. Annie, curious to try, stepped inside. She turned knobs, pulled levers and suddenly took off.
The trip felt weird, like a roller coaster, when the blurry image finally came into focus, she saw that she had gone into the past. She saw dinosaurs dying and guessed that it would leave it's skeleton behind. She hid behind trees and examined the giant creatures. They were much bigger than she thought, some reaching as high as 2 empire state buildings stacked on top of each others. After exploring, she went to search for the booth. She finally found it in the nest of 14 dino eggs nestled with their mother. She waited until the mom left and went to the booth. She made it go back to normal time and told the scientists all about her trip. Scientists still use it now to go into the past and into the future to find out how to make the cool gadgets we have now.

Super powers - Super heros
One sunny day, a swarm of butterflies burst out of the clouds as if they were going to attack. You'd think it's kind of weird, having a bunch of butterflies charging at you, but if you were the exterminator, it would be pretty normal. He is a super hero with powers to exterminate bugs. He also fights the Buganator, "owner of the bugs". The Buganator has the power to call all the insects from one species, and send them in troops to destroy the world. If the insects are friendly, he makes them deadly. Well, anyways, the Exterminator came to the rescue. He took out his bug vacuum cleaner and started to vacuum the bugs. He then found out he was vacuuming other things too. Airplanes, kites and lots more. He stopped and thought: "What can I do to just take away the butterflies?... the people!" On the microphone, he told everyonein the town to take one butterfly catcher each, try to catch some butterflies, and put them in a giant machine, that will get them back to normal. With the help of his friends, the Exterminator helped save the world from grave danger. So as he always says, with the help of friends, you don't need to be a super hero!!

Why I like Christmas
on the road, on top of cars, and in front yards, you can see that people are getting ready for Christmas so I wanted to tell you why I like Christmas. I like it because I can spend time with my family trying out the new things I get. I also, partly like it because of the presents. Every year I get some things I wanted, from my list and some that are not. Don't worry, I like then all. Another thing I like about Christmas is that everyone has at least some decorations up. There are blow up snowmans, multicolored lights, Christmas trees, fake snow, and even fake icicles hanging from rooftops. That is why I like Christmas. Why do you?

Santa Cruz
Yesterday my family went to Santa Cruz to watch the sunset. It was nice because I could capture almost all the important and interesting events or moments but still be able to relax at the same time. I saw seals in the ocean, seagulls in the sky, and lots of cool shells in stores. We walked for a while, looked around, and finally ate. After a lot of fun, we had to leave because it was getting late. I hope I will get to go to Santa Cruz again.

Hannah's Party
On Saturday, for dinner we drove for 1 hour to get to our newly-moved-in friend's house. When we arrived, the house was crowded with kids... girls and boys. I played with Hannah, Julia, and Keisha, some of the girls my age. Us, girls ran away from the boys, and we also hid. When it was time for dinner, we had pizza, pasta and sausages. I thought the dinner was really good. I had lots of fun with Hannah, Julia, and Keisha but at 10:00, when I had to leave, I was supper sad. I hope I will at least be able to see my newly made friends again.

My first swim meet
I had my first swim meet today in Santa Cruz. It was long because it took forever to get through all the millions of people over there, signing up and finding my way to the team's tent. Here is what I did: I had to warm up by swimming 400 yards at 7:00 A.M. in the morning! I thought that was the most tiring part, especially at that time... Next I did my first race: 100 yards of back stroke. That was hard because I was afraid of crashing into the lane lines. My second race was 50 yards of breast stroke (this is my favorite!) Unfortunately,I got disqualified from that one for not touching the wall with 2 hands but that's okay because it was my first time, and my coach told me it happens. My last race, and my best one was 50 yards of free style.
Overall, it was a great day! I got help during the meet from some teenagers from my team because my mom was timing other swimmers and she couldn't help me get to my events. It was foggy and a little rainy in the morning but it cleared up by the end of the meet. Even though it was hard to move around in the beginning because I was so cold, after a couple of hours I was feeling much better. In affect of the weather, some parents came prepared with warm clothes and even tents! I wasn't expecting to see that. I was glad to be done, but I thought I learned a lot from the meet. Can't wait till my next one!

Candies, Costumes and loads of fun!!!
Today, the 31st of October is Halloween, and like every year we have a school parade. I like it because there are always tons of cool and creative costumes to see. One I saw this year was a kid in a rain coat with cats and dogs (stuffed animals) hanging from the brim of his umbrella.
Our teacher Mr.L. was really cool too, he was the tin man from the wizard of OZ AND, Mrs.M.,my 3rd grade teacher, was the scare crow from the same movie!
I reused my tiger costume from last year's play Aladdin for this year's parade. I picked it because it's really nice and I don't get a chance to wear it that much. Lots of people liked it too.
After the parade we had a class party with tons of crafts such as decorating a pillow case that we can use as a bag to carry our candy, or making a foam, haunted tree.
After school I changed into another costume I had and became a pirate. My brother was also a pirate. I liked the pirate costume as much as the tiger one so I did not want to leave it out.
We met our friends at a Mexican restaurant. After dinner, we trick-or-treated at Down Town Los Gatos where there are houses that are decorated really good. I got lots of good candy like crunch and snickers and I wanted to eat them so bad that I ended up sneaking 1 or 2. Some cool costumes I saw were Sumo Wrestlers, Elvis, Hagrid, Harry, and Dumbledore. I had lots of fun trick-or-treating this year, and I wish it was every day.

HSM 3 (High School Musical 3)

On Friday, after school I went to watch High School Musical 3, the premiere. I was really excited when one of my friends picked me up because I had been waiting all week for that. When we got there we waited in line for at least 30 long and tiring minutes. I breathed a sigh of relief when we could go in and find our seats. There were lots of commercials so we went to get treats. Me and my friend shared Nerds and popcorn through out the movie. Some girls in the theater were screaming every time Zach Efron was appearing on the screen, and I thought that was kind of silly. I thought the movie was better than #1 and #2, because the story was more interesting and it was funnier. I also enjoyed the songs a little bit more because they had good themes. My favorite scene was when Troy and Chad are in the junkyard singing the song "the boys are back". When I left, I felt like I was deaf, and I was really tired as well .... it was 10:00PM!!!

Ohlone Day

Ohlone Indians are a tribe called Costanoans as they lived along the coast of California.
Friends of Deer Hollow Farm organized a reconstitution of an Ohlone village for people to learn about them, and that's where I went yesterday with my friend. A docent gave a demonstration on how to make fire using friction. A woman showed us how to cook acorn mush into acorn pancakes or oat meal- like food, and how hunters would get fish using buckeye. A demonstration on how they would hunt using archery was shown too. The Ohlone Indians would sleep in the huts on top of animal skins and stinky leaves that would keep bugs away.
I learned a lot from the hands-on activities at deer hollow farm and I had a lot of fun too.

Sleep over
On Friday I was so excited to pick up my friend after school, because I planed every thing out for our sleep over the day before. Right away we went to my brother's soccer practice together. We played and talked until the practice was over, and then we went home. It was nice because no one was around not even people we didn't know. At home all of us watched the Bee Movie while eating pizza. I really liked the movie, it was hilarious! Later me and my friend prepared our sleeping bags and went to bed. We talked for a long time, we also brought a stack of comic books to read. It was late but we finaly slept. The next morning we ate breakfast very quicly to have time to pick out what we were going to wear. We finaly decided to wear matching black and white outfits. It looked really nice together. Later we ate at Los Gatos cafe for lunch. We had lots of fun but, we eventually had to bring her home.

Its almost halloween!

Halloween is coming! (actually in 27 days, but oh, well) I saw some people with decorations up on their house so I decided to start. My brother is not to happy with the idea of putting decorations in the house so I didn't put any more up. If I could, I would get a really cool decoration for outside that everybody will love, like a green lamp that shines over the drive way, or a hand holding a bowl of candy that traps your hand for a couple seconds.Maybe even a fake vampire.

Renaissance Faire
Last week end, my family and I went to the Renaissance faire. We saw a joust (the knight that was in front of our row of seats won), some really, really funny shows called Mooney and Broon, and tons of people dressed up. I ate a corn-on-the-cob for lunch and a smoothie for dessert. My brother got a monkey tail (chocolate covered banana). We walked around some more and then we left.

What a day with my friend Issy
Today I went to my brother's soccer game, They were playing against the Suns.(My brother's team won the game...Again!) One of the suns players is B., Issy's brother. While the boys played,me and Issy built a tepee out of sticks. Then we met each other a the Pow wow. I interviewed some people that were dancing for my report coming up at school. It was hard because we stayed at the pow wow for a while, plus it was really hot. Later my brother and B. left with my mom while me and Issy stayed some more with her mom. When we got bored we went to her house to play. We went on her home made go-cart, and then I left. Now here I am, writing away on the computer.

head lice

In my school, head lice is going around. About 5 people in my class were absent because of it. A head lice is a kind of bug that feeds on the blood from the scalp. It's really contagious and spreads when a person who has head lice put their head close to someone else's. The egg of a lice is called a nit. It is shown in the second picture. Other facts about lice: here. Now the school nurse comes every week to check our hair making sure we don't have it. I'm glad that I don't have it !!

Swim team
This week I had a try out for a swim team. You know what? I got in! And the best part is that I'm with 4 other friends. So far I only had 2 practices. We do laps in different strokes. The pool is warm in the beginning, but after an hour of swimming, it gets pretty cold; overall I think I'm doing quite well, but most important, I'm having lots of fun .... with my friends!!!

party time
Last weekend I went to my friend's party. I had lots of fun. An adult came and helped us make slime. She was a mad scientist! My slime was clear. I made it with Sodium Borate solution, Polyvinyl alcohol. You can make your own slime if you follow the instructions here. That was the perfect ending to a long weekend.

soccer games
Every Saturday I go to my brother's soccer games. Last Saturday my brother's team, the Geckos, beat the Scorpions 4 to 1. My family was cheering my brother on so much that we all lost our voices. When Hugo was done with his game he ran to us with his watermelon snack. He started to complain that his mouth hurts so my mom looked inside and saw his tooth laying on his tongue.
He lost his tooth!!!!
After, we went to an earthquakes game.
The earthquakes beat the DC United's team 2 to 1.
What a day of soccer!

As a family tradition
As a tradition, my family goes biking almost every weekend.
We bike 10 miles on the Los Gatos creek trail.
Last month, I got a new bike with 21 speeds. It is black and white and I put some
stickers on it; it's awesome !!!!
When we came back from vacation, whenever we needed to go shopping, we went
there on our bikes.
On the trail, the pattern usually went: dog, dad, mom and stroller, kid, and occasionally a squishy one. We had to pass lots of slow walkers. The trail is tough but it's really fun.

My first week of school ...
On the first day of school my class lined up to go inside the classroom.
Almost everyone was wearing something new.I was wearing my new tan shirt, a brown baggy shirt over it, plaid pink and brown pants, and my new shoes.
Mr.L., the teacher I wanted, told us about the classroom all day.
We started working for the rest of the week. Every time we did work, I always finished first and always got everything right. Mr.L. made us write a report about a book we read. My report is below.
I really liked my first week of school.
Among the dolls by William Sleator
One day Vicky woke up trapped inside the dollhouse with the monsters she created. Vicky longed to get out and sometimes cried. After a while in the dollhouse with her very uninviting hosts, she started a conversation with the toddler and he told her that he was on her side. He said that he didn't enjoy living with the other dolls, just like Vicky. The toddler helped Vicky get to the attic where another dollhouse was hidden... for the dolls.
Inside it, was a mother, father, but the little girl was missing. She sticked her hand inside the tiny doll house and ended up in her real house. She went to her doll house, and ripped off the roof above the attic, and took out the tiny doll house. Right when it came out of the doollhouse, the tiny version of Vicky's house disappeared. She took the toddler out and hid it. She gave the doll house away to the little girl next door and said: " at least, she will treat them differently". She was so relieved that she was out of the horrible dollhouse!
